Imported High-end Insulating Materials Impacting Enterprise’s Profit in Cable Industry

“In the past, many domestic enterprises in cable industry imported raw materials, such as copper, high-end insulation materials, cable equipment, etc. Enterprise only pays labor, so how can enterprise increase profit?” Zhong said.

 

 

On 2014 Annual Meeting of Global Wire and Cable, Director Zhong used to talk about home-made problem of insulating materials for high voltage cable. Now, a year later, he believes that the developing speed of home-made insulating materials for high voltage cable is increased on the whole. On the current point of view, Zhong said, domestic high-end insulation materials are still dependent on imports, for example, high voltage direct current cable and K1 class nuclear power cable have not yet achieved localization.


“To improve the problem of home-made high-end insulating materials is complex. It is not enough just relying on cable companies or cable material companies. It is required multi industry cooperation and source industries including chemical companies to participate actively.” Zhong said, there requires a variety of cable materials to produce cables, such as conductors, insulators, etc. If the raw materials cannot be guaranteed, in fact, it can’t achieve the true sense of self-sufficiency.


 
“However, it is gratifying that the development of high-end insulating materials for cable has attracted much attention in the industry. Many cable companies have started research in recent years.”Zhong firmly believes that the localization of high-end cable materials would be the inevitable development trend.

 

2015 Annual Meeting of Global Wire and Cable for a period of 3 days, it was as the theme of that “Reform the Old, Create the New, Cast the Future”, for the purpose of that “Gather Intelligence, Boost Development”. The meeting invited a total of more than 500 people, including government leaders, experts, chief engineers, entrepreneurs, etc., to promote the cable industry’s development by teamwork.
